About TaskForce Prevention and Community Services

TaskForce Prevention and Community Services is a multi-service, grassroots organization committed to improving the sexual health and overall well-being of LGBTQIA+ youth of Color in Chicago. We provide safe spaces for fellowship, HIV and STI screening and education, and on-site referrals to medical, housing, and other social services.

Our outreach and programming work centers on community voice, equity, cultural humility, and authentic relationship-building.

PrEP4Teens is a youth-centered HIV prevention initiative that empowers young people with knowledge, creative platforms, and community support to promote sexual health and wellness. Through outreach, education, art-based programming, and youth engagement, PrEP4Teens works to increase awareness and access to HIV prevention resources, including PrEP, while uplifting youth voices and lived experiences.

Position Overview

The Youth Community Ambassador is a community-facing role focused primarily on outreach, youth engagement, and program support for PrEP4Teens. The Ambassador helps expand the reach of PrEP4Teens programming by building relationships with teens, schools, youth-serving organizations, and prevention partners throughout the Chicago area.

This role supports community outreach, youth engagement activities, and program logistics while assisting with the implementation of youth workshops and creative programming. The Youth Community Ambassador works closely with the PrEP4Teens Program Coordinator and outreach team and does not lead programming independently.

While the Ambassador works under the direction of the Program Coordinator and does not independently own program strategy, we are looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and creativity to the role. The ideal candidate will contribute ideas, help identify outreach opportunities, and actively support relationship-building with youth, schools, community organizations, and prevention partners.

The PrEP4Teens program primarily serves teens ages 13-18 through youth cohorts, workshops, and community outreach events.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, connecting with community organizations, and supporting youth-centered programming focused on sexual health, HIV prevention, empowerment, and creative expression.

  • Support outreach with youth-serving community organizations and prevention partners, including Chicago Public Schools, Communities In Schools, and other community-based organizations
  • Help strengthen relationships with partner schools and organizations, identify potential new community connections, and support the Program Coordinator and team in cultivating outreach and partnership opportunities
  • Support outreach in Spanish-speaking communities when language skills allow, including helping make PrEP4Teens resources and engagement activities more accessible to youth and families

Program and Workshop Support (Approximately 20–25%)

  • Support the implementation of youth workshops and educational activities focused on sexual health, HIV prevention, PrEP awareness, and creative advocacy using the approved program curriculum
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with workshop preparation, facilitation support, and participant engagement
  • Support youth cohorts, one-time workshops, and community events, depending on program needs
  • Help coordinate workshop logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, and participant support
  • Encourage youth participation in programming in a way that is welcoming, affirming, and culturally responsive

Administrative and Logistics Support (Approximately 20–25%)

  • Assist with logistical coordination for workshops, outreach events, and public art projects
  • Support inventory tracking and replenishment of program materials and outreach supplies
  • Help organize documentation, including sign-in sheets, workshop materials, and program records
  • Respond in a timely manner to inquiries submitted through the PrEP4Teens website and communication channels
  • Assist with general program coordination and internal communications
  • Maintain organized records and follow through on assigned responsibilities in a timely and dependable manner
